How Vision works

What does Vision do?

When you play the card, you look at the top card of your Main Deck and choose whether to recycle it, which puts it on the bottom of your deck. If you don't, it stays on top for you to draw.

Core Rules 817.1.b, 437.1, 417.1

Do I have to recycle the card?

No, it's your choice. Keep a card you want to draw soon on top, or send one you don't want to the bottom.

Core Rules 437.1

Which cards can have Vision?

Permanents: units and gear. It triggers as the permanent enters the board when you play it, so spells never have it.

Core Rules 817.1.a, 133.4.a.2, 817.1.c

What happens with two Vision triggers?

Each one resolves separately, and you choose whether to recycle each time. If you keep the top card the first time and nothing else changes, the second Vision shows you the same card. Gemcraft Seer gives your other units Vision, so a unit with its own Vision that you play while Gemcraft Seer is on the board has two.

Core Rules 817.2, 817.2.a, 817.2.b, 383.2.c.1

Is Vision the same as Predict?

Yes. Vision is short for "when this is played, Predict". Predict on its own is an action that spells and abilities can tell you to take, sometimes with a number: Predict 2 looks at the top two cards.

Core Rules 817.1.b, 437.1.a, 437.3

What if my Main Deck is empty?

Then there's nothing to look at, and Vision does nothing. Looking at cards this way never makes you burn out.

Core Rules 437.4, 437.4.a

Example: Two looks with Gemcraft Seer

You play Gemcraft Seer, look at your top card and keep it on top. Then you play Jeweled Colossus, which has Vision and gets a second Vision from Gemcraft Seer. The first trigger shows you the same top card again, so this time you recycle it, and the second trigger shows you the new top card.
