How Unique works

What does Unique do?

It limits deck building. Your Main Deck can normally include up to 3 copies of a card with the same name, but only 1 copy of a card with Unique.

Core Rules 825.3.a, 103.3.b

Does Unique do anything during a game?

No. Cards with Unique have no extra effects in play. It only matters while you build your deck.

Core Rules 825.3, 825.4

Can my opponent play the same Unique card?

Yes. Unique limits each deck, not the game, so you and your opponent can each have one, and both can be on the board at once.

Core Rules 825.3.a, 825.4

Can my deck have more than one Unique card?

Yes, as long as their names differ. Forgefire Cape, Rabadon's Deathcrown and Shurelya's Requiem are all Ornn Signature cards with Unique, so an Ornn deck can run one of each, which fills its three Signature slots.

Core Rules 825.3.a, 825.3.b, 103.3.d

What about a Signature card with Unique?

Your deck keeps its usual limit of three Signature cards in total, in any combination, but can include only one copy of each Unique one.

Core Rules 825.3.b, 103.3.d.1

Which cards have Unique?

Unique first appeared on three Spiritforged Equipment: Forgefire Cape, Rabadon's Deathcrown and Shurelya's Requiem. It was added to the Core Rules' keyword list in the Unleashed update.

Riftbound Core Rules: Unleashed Patch Notes

Example: Building an Ornn deck

Your Champion Legend is Ornn, Fire Below the Mountain, so your deck can include his Signature Equipment. Shurelya's Requiem and Forgefire Cape both have Unique, so you include one of each and never a second copy. Doran's Shield doesn't have Unique, so you can include three. Once the game starts, Unique does nothing.
